Prevent corns before they annoy you

Today everyone is working hard to make life simpler. For that, people are spending more hours at their working place. We are spending several hours on walking, which may figure in more than thousands steps. This results in extra pressure on our feet. Have you ever thought what will happen to your feet if they are packed them narrow shoes? Next time you may get trouble for walking or it may become impossible for you to walk. And the reason may be the corn.

Corn is among the most common problem related with our feet. Like calluses, thickening of toe skin is their prominent indication. But one should not get confused between corns and calluses. Because calluses does not show any inflamed symptoms. But corns start with minor inflammation. But usually they appear on a foot anywhere. These corns are very annoying and produce unbearable pain. The pain can get more intense while walking and doing daily activities. Generally these corns appear on outer skin of the fifth finger, over the skin of metatarsal bone, and some times between the fingers. A corn is called as soft corn, when its appearance is whitish and a hard corn, which is firmer and feels hard. One can also find circular shaped white, yellow, or gray corn on an individuals feet.

On an average ladies are more prone to get corns against tight fitting shoes. There are many reasons to appear corn on your feet. One reason obviously is ill-fitted shoes. Because, these type of foot wear gives more pressure on the concerned areas of feet. If an individual is using socks or stocking, which fits uncomfortably, which creates more friction. Except these, unhealthy living conditions, working with bare foot etc. will lead to more sever conditions of corns. Corns can also develop with peoples having foot deformities such as claw like toe, mallet toes, overlapping toes etc.

Unlike calluses, corns need an appropriate treatment to cure them. Doctors can prescribe treatment for the corn if the condition is getting worse. But in their primary stage you can treat them at your home. If the conservative treatments do not work then there are surgical treatments helpful for corns. There are surgical treatments for soft corns, hard corns and corns caused due to Hammertoe can be treated by Hammertoe surgery. In the surgical treatments, the position of the toes is corrected. These surgeries are successful and you get relief by the corns.

But guidance should be taken form doctors while treating the individual suffering from diabetes or poor blood circulation.

And finally always keep your feet clean and do care for them like you do for other parts of the body.
