Bunions are the most common forefoot disorder found. In this disease there is large bulging in the inside of the foot at the big toe joint. This is a bone that bulges out inside the feet. A condition like overlapping toes is seen. It is forms when the bursa is inflamed at the base of big toe. There are two types of bunions acute type and tailor’s bunion. The tailor’s bunion is formed at the outside of the foot in the direction of joint at the little toe. It is a small bulge. The person cannot walk properly. This can also cause inflammation, swelling, and soreness on the big toe. It is a chronic and also painless deformity that can cause rigidity of the bones.

  Causes

This is a cause often seen in women. The main cause of this deformity is wearing tight narrow and high heel shoes. Many women wear too small shoes. These shoes can cause problems in the feet like bulging and corns in feet. The bunion makes your big toe large and stick out. It affects the functioning of the foot or arthritis. Wearing a small shoe makes the feet to take the shape of shoe creating bunions in your feet. The toes get squeeze in the shoes and the bone get bulge out to the side. These shoes can lead the bunion to the worst state.

  Symptoms

The skin at the toe becomes red and tender. Sometimes there is inflammation. There is severe pain in bunions. As the bunions become larger there is difficulty in walk. The skin under becomes thicker and painful. If these bunions become severe it makes unable to walk. Treating and taking precaution is better for bunions.

  Treatment and prevention

Prevention is always a key for getting relief from the bunions. Early stages the treatment for bunions is conservative but if there is no relief from this conservative methods then surgery can be useful for bunions. Surgery can restore the alignments in your foot. Now days many practitioners are advising surgery for the treatment of the Bunions. Basically, surgery is focused on getting relief and stops occurrence of bunions. So this can be the best option instead taking any pain killers or any pain reducing methods. In some rare cases of bunions surgeries the bunion can be removed easily. Bunion surgery includes the alignment of toe joints and tightening the ligaments of the toe in a way to reduce the stress on the toe. Thus by doing surgery for bunions it reduces the pains or inflammation and recover your foot for bearing the weight. The surgery for bunion is the most effective and you can get relieved for bunions and get back to your normal activities.
