Smooth implant is a type of breast implant.
Breast implantation is generally done for enlarging the size of the breast.
Sometimes the breast implantation is also done for reconstructing the shape and size of the breast. This process of breast implantation is also called as breast augmentation or breast enlargement. It is observed by the American society of plastic that the breast augmentation is the third most commonly done cosmetic surgery.
There are basically two types of breast implants namely the Saline implant and other is the silicone gel. This classification is dependent on the material type that is filled in the
Implant. Depending on the structure, shape and size the implants are of a variety of types like the round implant, the anatomical implant, the smooth implant and the textured implant.
Smooth implants move freely in the pockets. The smooth implants have very small shells in them. They generally do not rupture. Their rate of rupturing is very low. Because of their material property they last long as compared to any other type of implant. The smooth type of implants is not as firm as that of the textured implants. There is a phenomenon called as the traction rippling effect in case of some breast implants. If in case there is a occurrence of traction rippling in smooth rippling then the only solution is to repeat the whole surgery with a totally new replant. This occurs generally because the overlying tissues grabs the implant and starts pulling. But the smooth type of implants does not face such a type of problem.
Actually speaking there is no particular implant that is the best or it is not that a particular type of implant is superior to the other. It is all up to the woman who is willing to undergo the implantation. It is her choice, her suitability to the type of implant, and also the cost factor is important. These are the most comfortable, low cost, and good looking type of implants. |
